Hiring: Part-Time Development Director

First Coast Opera invites applications for a part-time Development Director. The successful candidate must reside in Northeast Florida and attend in-person events in St. Augustine. Key responsibilities include planning, overseeing, and executing an annual Development Plan to support company contributed income goals. Experience with non-profit fundraising and direct donor solicitation is strongly preferred. Experience with or interest in the performing arts is desirable.

Specific Duties:

1. Plan, oversee, and execute an annual Development Plan to support company contributed income goals, including individual donors, major gifts, corporate sponsorship and support, and planned giving.  Assist with public and private grantmaking.

2. Schedule and execute direct solicitations in person, by phone, and in writing.

3. Involve and coordinate donor solicitations with the General & Artistic Director and members of the Board of Directors.

4. Coordinate with Marketing activities to ensure consistent placement and messaging of donor support and acknowledgments.

5. Act as an ambassador for the Company and develop constructive relations with key stakeholders, including creative and business partners, other community groups, audiences, funding agencies, donors, and the media.

6. Operate within board-approved annual budget.

7. Attend company performances and events.

8. Attend meetings of the Board of Directors and relevant committees.

9. Perform additional duties as required for promoting and sustaining FCO.
