La Traviata performed to record audiences

Updated: Apr 27

Provocative and risqué, La Traviata was interested not in society’s shining façade, but its guilty secrets. Violetta, Verdi’s heroine, is a courtesan – a member of Paris’s “demi-monde” – the dark, dubious fringes of polite society.

On December 31, 2021 and January 2, 2022 First Coast Opera was proud to stage Verdi's La Traviata at Lewis Auditorium, St. Augustine. Fully staged with orchestra, the performance included a stellar cast, beautiful costumes and an imaginative stage design.
