Shannon McKay, Accompanist, began piano study at age eight at the Peabody Conservatory Preparatory School, Baltimore, MD.  As a high school senior in Atlanta, she competed for, and won, a piano scholarship to Stephens College in Columbia, Mo.  She earned a BA in French from Georgia State University.  She worked for some years in graphic design and at a series of print media jobs.  Upon moving to St. Augustine 17 years ago, she was immediately absorbed in the local music scene, and now is delighted to consider herself a career musician.  Principal organist at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Augustine, she accompanies the St. Augustine Community Chorus and Chamber Choir, performs annually in organ recital at  Memorial Presbyterian Church, and is Music Director of First Coast Opera.  Shannon eagerly anticipates many more years of music-making in the Oldest City.
