Two operatic divas, the aging Madame Goldentrill and the rising young star Miss Silverpeal, vie for attention and top billing from the world-weary Opera Impresario. Mr. Scruples. Add to this heady mix the philandering banker, Mr. Angel, with his own hopes to promote both ladies for his own profit. When the ladies arrive to audition at the same moment, the situation threatens to spin out of control.
